Irena Simic

Irena came on board the team in September 2006 and is the Head Booker of Almost Famous.She has a degree in Marketing & Business Management and joined the South African Film industry in 2003. Irena started out working as a Chaperone but soon found that she had a flair for the Arts and became a Wardrobe Assistant/Key Stylist on numerous Commercial shoots and Music Videos!

After working in the field for two years, she changed to Cast Coordination in 2005. Production houses were impressed by her casting skills, positive energy and determination and she moved on to become a Freelance Casting Director in 2006. She has since casted for various international TVC’s and Music Videos.

Nicolette Michaels

Nicolette joined the team in 2007 as a Booker for Almost Famous Casting Agency. She has completed a National Diploma in Public Relations Management.

Her expertise in Retail & Educational Marketing & PR has exposed her to working with clients from various different disciplines. Her experience includes co-ordinating Social Responsibility projects, Promotions and Event Management. Although her specialization is PR, her experience in marketing and communication has made her a well-rounded communication professional. She has a passion for people and feels that social communication is one of the more enjoyable aspects of her job.

Katrin Bohlender

Originally from Heidelberg in Germany, Katrin moved to Cape Town in 1997 after completing her MA in Sports Science. In Cape Town she worked on a project for the rehabilitation of street children run by the University of the Western Cape.

She then discovered her passion for the production and film industry, in which she is able to utilise her exceptional organisational talents. Katrin has vast knowledge and experience of the local industry. She is also the owner of Africade Productions, an established Stills Production Company.
